From the outside, my life looked complete.
The promotion I had wanted for years
I was born in a small town in Colombia. My parents never finished elementary school. I learned English as an adult. In 2017 I got the promotion I had worked for, a high-level marketing position at a Fortune 500 company.
A good marriage. Healthy children. The house. The job. And inside, I felt empty.
I did not tell anyone
I felt ashamed of feeling that way. I had everything I had worked for. So I kept going. I got more tired and more anxious, my health started to slip, and everything I had built began to feel like a house of cards.
I went looking for answers
At the end of 2018 I watched a film called The Secret, and I decided I wanted to learn from one of its teachers, Bob Proctor. I spent a year in formal study with him. Then I kept going: hundreds of books on the science of the mind, and every practice tested on myself before I believed it.
My days began to feel different
By January 2020 I was living a calmer, more balanced life. What worked was smaller and quieter than I expected. Not a new life. One healthy mental habit at a time, practised daily, until my mind became a place I could rest in.
The story became a book
That journey became my first book, I Trust My Inner Voice. It won the Best Book Awards in 2023, was a finalist again in 2024, and received the Hasmark Award of Excellence.
Journals, so you can practise too
Reading was never the hard part. Practising was. So I made guided journals that hold one small practice at a time: The Graceful Healing Workbook & Journal, Quiet Your Mind Workbook & Journal, and Quantum Gratitude, a five-minute evening journal.
